Clubs can not allow players from a different club to join their club team just for WinterFest unless special request has been granted first by the tournament director. All teams are expected to uphold a high level of ethics in decisions of roster make up and competition. Remember, this is a fun (not national championship) tournament. Some teams will make up their teams based on players age and some will make up their teams based on grade level and some teams will be granted special permission for slight change/differences in order to have enough players to compete with their club and allow their own players from their club to compete on their entered teams for the tournament. All entry slots are subject to availability and approval by the tournament committee. The number of teams permitted in each division will /may fill up quickly and teams will not be accepted into the tournament unless they have proper items submitted by the posted deadline. Tournament committee reserves the right to deny entry/ participation for any club/team/coach or player regardless of availability, this is an invitational event. A fine of $100 per game will be applied for teams that have to forfeit for reasons such as having an unregistered athlete or coach participate, not having enough players to start a game after 5 minutes from the scheduled start, etc… |

-if game finishes in a tie (unless the ref declares the game finish in a time for unforeseen circumstance like violence, danger or other reasons that justifies their actions), then the two teams will go into a shoot out when the score in regulation is 5-5 or less. If the score is 6-6 or more, then a sudden-death period is played to determine an outcome, this is the "WinterFest" system that decides the currently game played after regulation.
- in case of a tie in a bracket with multiple teams, meaning the same record, to determine who advances:
** we must try to rule out as many teams as possible. First any team that can automatically ruled out because the have a lower record or a higher record than the teams that are tied in question, then do not use them in the equation. Second, we are using a defensive rewarding system first, meaning the teams that give up the least amount of goals between their opponents in question are upgraded first. Then if it still is not clear because teams gave up the same amount of goal, then you look at head-to head result, who beat who, if that is still not determined for some reason, the go into a goal differential system that USWP uses, the gap in the score, a bigger gap for a winner compared to the other winner is more favorable, a bigger gap for a loser in the score, is not favorable. If teams are still in a tie, then teams in the ties are award morepoints for scoring more goals in their victories, if teams are still a tie, then start using the scores against the teams that are not in question that have a common opponent- you can not use a game score against a team to determine advancement if your opponent in question for the tie never played that opponent. |
